Instructional Staff Role
We are accepting instructional staff applications for summer 2023!
Yale Young Global Scholars (YYGS) is hiring instructional staff to teach in-person at Yale University during June & July 2023. Preferred candidates include graduate or undergraduate students, or recent graduates, with a desire to teach and a passion for working cooperatively with others. Instructional staff mentor and teach students in one or more of the following YYGS academic tracks:
- STEM- Innovations in Science & Technology (IST)
- Humanities- Literature, Philosophy, & Culture (LPC)
- Social Science- Politics, Law, & Economics (PLE)
- Cross-Disciplinary- Solving Global Challenges (SGC)
Successful candidates will demonstrate genuine academic and professional interest/experience in fields related to one or more of these academic tracks. Ideal candidates will also have excellent communication skills, organizational skills, mentoring/teaching experience, and previous experience with YYGS or a similar program.

- October 2022 – February 2023: Application Deadlines, Interviews, and Hiring Decisions
- February 25: Mandatory Spring Curricular Training (In-person)
- February – May: Seminar Curriculum Development
- June 15 & 16: Mandatory Staff Orientation (In-person)
Instructional staff commits to work for the full duration of a session(s) for which they are employed. Each session is two weeks long. Applicants may apply to work in one or more of the following sessions:
- Session I: June 18 – 30
- Session II: July 2 – 14
- Session III: July 16 – 28
Although YYGS will consider candidates that are only able to work for one or two summer sessions, we prefer that candidates are able to make the full summer commitment (all 3 sessions, 6 weeks total).
